The Todd Valley Softball League held their end of year meeting August 17, 2008 at D.C. High School. Teams represented were Wahoo, Fremont, Blair, Gretna, Ashland, Yutan, Elkhorn, Bennington, Wahoo and D.C. West. Minutes and Treasurers report of the Februarury 13th meeting were read. M/S/C.
Next we discussed expenses. Anderson Awards for league and end of year awards was paid. Officers were paid.
Next we had many items for discussion. One of the topics discussed was Rosters. There had been problems this year with people not getting rosters in on time and adding players. New roster Deadline is April 15th. You may add to roster until May 15th.
Also coaches need to know rules. We had some people wanting to protest games. You can’t appeal an umpire’s decision. Read the rule book and the TVSL rules that are online.
League tournaments need to have rainout dates set. There will be a penalty for teams not available on rainout dates.
Town representatives need to know their responsibilities and inform their coaches of meetings, rules, individual registration, district rosters and league roster deadlines and help them fill out the forms. WE need to be accountable to Roni on time with our forms, who needs to be accountable to the State who needs to be accountable to Regional and National . There are deadlines for a reason.
There will be a couple of new officer positions that need to be filled. These will be filled in February. Rhonda and Shari will both stay on the board but we need a new Vice President and league coordinator.
We also talked about expanding our league and getting other teams signed up.
Also discussed was umpires should be in proper attire.
